When Croftinloan Preparatory School, outside Pitlochry, closed in 2000 after 66 years of operation the contents of the building were sold at auction. Plans were approved by P&K Council on 23 November for five houses with garages to be built in the school's walled garden.
A further plan by a different applicant was also approved for the rehabilitation of the gardener's cottage and the erection of another 10 dwellings in the grounds of the former school. The chapel and temporary classrooms would be demolished to make way for mews housing.
Plans have yet to be put forward for the school building itself, though it is understood that it is proposed to convert it into flats.
