Pitlochry Business Park Progress

Following years of wrangling the protracted efforts to secure a business park development for Pitlochry have finally produced fruit.

Since the late Nineties negotiations between the Council and local landowners have been progressing over a one hectare site adjacent to the A9 which can contain six development plots and two small starter units.

Building work is scheduled to commence on the £800,000 project which P&K Council is progressing to attract new businesses and investment to the area.

It is intended that the easy access to and from the site onto the main arterial route will offer an attractive incentive for firms to locate there.

The units are aimed at small businesses and light industry, both sectors which are currently poorly served in Pitlochry and in Highland Perthshire in general.

The site also ties in with the overspill bus parking for the Festival Theatre which will be provided within the new business park. It is reported that interest has already been shown by firms in taking up accommodation.

A Council spokesman indicated that the project should be completed by October this year.
